Asthma New Zealand

Three explainer videos for Asthma New Zealand: how the airways work, what sets asthma off, and what its registered nurses do. Claymation carries the people. The systems are flat 2D, and the airway itself is built in photoreal 3D.

A claymation nurse in a green polo shirt with a silver fern pin, seated and turned slightly towards camera, one hand open mid-gesture, as if mid-sentence. Sculpted clay texture shows on her face and sleeves. She sits to the left of frame against a plain warm-grey background.

A health charity founded over fifty years ago. Its registered nurses, specially trained in asthma and COPD, see people at clinics in Auckland and Wellington, and by telehealth everywhere else.

The work

  1. Asthma & Your Airways — how the airways work and what happens in an attack. Photoreal 3D. Delivered.
  2. Asthma Triggers — what sets asthma off, with a two-tier action-card suite. Delivered.
  3. Asthma NZ Services — what the charity’s registered nurses do. In final revision.

Three different visual styles, each doing its own job. Claymation brings the people to life. The systems (plans, timelines, networks) stay simple and flat in 2D. And the airway itself is built in true-to-life 3D, because that’s the part that has to be exactly right.
